Job description

El candidato seleccionado deberá ser capaz de proporcionar un servicio óptimo a una amplia variedad de usuarios mediante el compromiso y la dedicación profesional. Este candidato también debe ser capaz de adaptarse al cambio y aprender rápidamente en un entorno altamente dinámico

Job requirements

  • Assist in **installing, configuring, and maintaining** Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or Debian).

  • Perform **user/group management, file permissions, and disk management** (LVM, ext4, XFS)

  • Monitor system performance, logs, and resource usage (**top, htop, df, vmstat**)

  • Apply **security patches and updates** (yum/dnf/apt).

  • Configure and troubleshoot **SSH, FTP, DNS, DHCP, NFS, Samba**

  • Assist in managing **web servers (Apache/Nginx)** and **database servers (MySQL/PostgreSQL)**.

  • Support basic **firewall (iptables/firewalld) and network troubleshooting**

  • Write and maintain basic **Bash scripts** for automation.

  • Learn and assist with **Ansible/Puppet** for configuration management (if applicable).

  • Follow security best practices (SSH key auth, sudo policies, log auditing).

  • Help implement and test **backup solutions (rsync, tar, Bacula, etc.)

  • Work with senior admins on troubleshooting and projects.

  • Maintain clear documentation for configurations and procedures.

  • Respond to help desk tickets related to server and access issues

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of **Linux command line** and system administration.

  • Familiarity with **package management (yum/apt), cron jobs, and logs**.

  • Understanding of **networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, SSH)**.

  • Basic **Bash scripting** skills.

  • Basic troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network issues.

  • Ability to follow IT policies and procedures.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus)

  • Linux certifications** (e.g., **Linux+, RHCSA, LPIC-1**).

  • Exposure to **cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)**.

  • Knowledge of **containerization (Docker, Podman)**.

  • Experience with **monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus)

Education & Experience:

  • Associate/Bachelor’s degree in **Computer Science, IT, or related field** (or equivalent experience).

  • 2-3 years of Linux administration or IT support experience.
