Roles & Responsibilities
· Manage and maintain Oracle RAC databases to ensure high availability and performance.
· Perform database tuning and optimization to improve query performance and overall efficiency.
· Develop and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
· Collaborate with application teams to optimize database schema designs and queries.
· Monitor database health and address performance issues proactively.
· Ensure compliance with data security and governance policies.
· Automate routine database administration tasks for operational efficiency.
· Conduct capacity planning to anticipate future database growth.
· Document database configurations, maintenance procedures, and best practices.
· Provide 24/7 support for critical database environments to ensure uptime and reliability.
Assessment Phase Responsibilities
· Conduct a thorough analysis of existing Oracle RAC database configurations.
· Assess current database performance, availability, and scalability requirements.
· Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and potential risks in database environments.
· Perform a gap analysis to determine areas for improvement in database operations.
· Evaluate disaster recovery solutions and validate compliance with organizational policies.
· Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements for database optimization or migration.
· Document current database workflows, dependencies, and interconnections.
· Conduct feasibility studies for upgrading to the latest Oracle versions or RAC enhancements.
· Develop a high-level roadmap for database improvements and upgrades.
· Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders for approval.
Implementation Phase Responsibilities
· Configure and deploy Oracle RAC clusters for high availability and scalability.
· Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patch management.
· Implement automation tools for database provisioning and maintenance tasks.
· Optimize database performance using tuning tools and best practices.
· Monitor and validate disaster recovery setups to ensure readiness during failures.
· Collaborate with application teams to resolve database-related issues during implementation.
· Document deployment processes, configurations, and operational procedures.
· Provide training and knowledge transfer sessions to support teams.
· Monitor and troubleshoot database environments to ensure smooth operations.
· Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess the effectiveness of database changes.
Required Skills and Qualification
· Proven experience as an Oracle DBA, with expertise in Oracle RAC environments.
· Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, and optimization.
· Experience with backup and recovery solutions using RMAN or similar tools.
· Proficiency in database security, including encryption and access controls.
· Familiarity with database monitoring tools (e.g., OEM, Solar winds)
ADVANCED CONVERSATIONAL ENGLISH ESSENTIAL (Will be evaluated).
