Senior Quality Engineering / Test Automation Engineer 

A Quality Engineering professional with strong software engineering, test automation, API testing, Azure, and CI/CD expertise, capable of building scalable automation frameworks and validating complex enterprise and AI-powered applications. 

Core Must-Haves for Screening 

7+ years QA/QE | 5+ years Automation | Playwright/Selenium/Cypress/Puppeteer | Programming | API Testing | Azure | CI/CD | Enterprise Applications 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Define testing strategies, quality standards, and automation frameworks across engineering teams. 

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and suites. 

  • Implement automated functional, UI, API, integration, regression, performance, and security testing

  • Drive shift-left testing and quality practices throughout the SDLC. 

  • Integrate automated testing and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines. 

  • Develop test plans, test cases, and test scenarios; ensure requirements are testable and traceable. 

  • Analyze test failures, identify root causes, and drive resolution. 

  • Test complex enterprise applications, distributed systems, APIs, databases, and microservices. 

  • Validate reliability, scalability, resiliency, security, performance, and production readiness of Azure applications. 

  • Develop testing and evaluation strategies for Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, chatbots, RAG, and intelligent search

  • Mentor QA engineers and developers on automation and quality engineering best practices. 

Required Qualifications 

Experience — Must Have 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field; equivalent experience considered. 

  • 7+ years of software QA / Quality Engineering experience. 

  • 5+ years of hands-on test automation experience. 

  • Experience testing enterprise-scale applications in Agile/Scrum environments. 

  • Experience working directly with development teams throughout the SDLC. 

Technical Skills — Must Have 

Test Automation 

  • Strong expertise in at least one: Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or Puppeteer

  • Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks. 

  • Automated regression testing and CI/CD-based test execution. 

Programming 

  • Hands-on programming experience with at least one: C#/.NET, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or PowerShell

  • Ability to develop maintainable automation frameworks and testing utilities. 

API & Integration Testing 

  • REST APIs, Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI

  • Automated API validation, integration testing, and contract testing. 

Azure & DevOps 

  • Hands-on experience testing applications in Microsoft Azure

  • Experience with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions

  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, including quality gates and release validation. 

  • Working knowledge of Azure services such as App Services, Functions, AKS, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Storage, API Management, Monitor, Application Insights, and Entra ID

Performance & Security 

  • Experience with load/performance testing and API performance validation. 

  • Understanding of software security testing and vulnerability assessment. 

AI Testing 

  • Working knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, RAG, Azure OpenAI, and/or Azure AI Search

  • Understanding of AI testing challenges including hallucinations, grounding, accuracy, consistency, reliability, and output evaluation

Preferred Qualifications 

  • ISTQB Advanced, CSTE, AZ-900, or AZ-204 certification. 

  • Experience testing AI-enabled business applications. 

  • Experience with microservices, Kubernetes, and containerized applications. 

  • Experience establishing Quality Engineering practices across engineering teams.
