Qualifications and Skills:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation engineering, preferably in the automotive industry with a focus on BIW processes.

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in programming and operating PLCs, robotics, and other automation systems. Familiarity with CAD software and manufacturing execution systems (MES).

  • Project Management Skills: Strong project management skills, with experience leading complex automation projects.

  • Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.

  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.

  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all aspects of the role.

  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing technologies and processes, demonstrating flexibility and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Automation Integration: Develop, implement, and optimize automation solutions for the BIW process, including robotics, PLCs, and other automated systems.

  • Project Management: Lead and coordinate automation projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

  • Process Improvement: Continuously analyze and improve BIW processes to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

  • Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and support to the manufacturing team, troubleshooting and resolving automation-related issues.

  • Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for staff on new automation technologies and processes, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of automation systems, processes, and procedures, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality assurance, to ensure the successful integration of automation technologies.

Working Conditions

The Body in White Process Local Technology Specialist (LTS), Automation Engineer will primarily work in a manufacturing environment, with occasional travel required for training, collaboration with other facilities, and attendance at industry conferences. The role demands a high level of physical activity, including standing, walking, and interacting with machinery and equipment.

Job Type: Onsite - temporary contract until December 31th, with possible extention depending the performance.

Work Location: Monterrey

Salary: $69,000 gross.
